Where & When
Schedule
See the Academy Foundational Training page for your specific course schedule.
How we will meet
We will meet via Zoom, a simple, user-friendly video call platform. You will need access to a computer or tablet with a camera to join the sessions.
If this is your first time using Zoom, plan to join the first session a few minutes early to allow time for downloading the Zoom application.
You will receive a link to join the password-protected Zoom meeting room in your welcome email for the course.
This will be highly interactive. As you will see, this isn’t one of those webinars where you can sit back and check your email. This course requires your participation!
To that end, please plan to:
Join with video. That will support you to get the most out of the course, and support you and your fellow participants to have an experience of community together during each session.
Use a headset or headphones. If possible, plan to use a headset or headphones with a microphone while on the call, to provide the best possible audio and minimize background noise.
Logistical Details
Food
Lunches: You will have an hour break for lunch each day. You may want to consider preparing food in advance for lunch, so that you have plenty of time to eat on your break.
Attire & Comfort
Please dress comfortably! We aren’t formal. We will have breaks during the course so that you can get up and move around.
What to Bring
- A notebook
- Something to write with
- An open mind
- Anything else you need in order to be comfortable and fully present
Set aside this time for your personal transformation
In order to get the most out of this experience, we invite you to treat these this course as a retreat. This is important time just for you!
Turn your phone off or put it in “Do Not Disturb” during the sessions. Close your email and other programs during the sessions, so you can be fully present to everything that’s happening.
Don’t schedule other plans on the breaks. In addition, there will be some work to do in between sessions, and we encourage you to give yourself the time and space to both do the preparation work, and get plenty of rest.
Communicate with your family and/or housemates. Let them know that you won’t be available during the course times, and make a plan for anything they may need from you ahead of time.
Set up your space
To give yourself the best possible experience, we suggest you find a private space in your home where you will be undisturbed during the course. You may want to do something special to decorate it for the course. Maybe add flowers, plants, or artwork. Get creative!
Sobriety
We ask that you refrain from using alcohol or recreational drugs for the duration of this course (Thursday through Sunday). This does not include prescription medications you are taking. This course creates new ways for your brain to process information, and this would be disrupted by mind-altering substances.
